The Insiders Guide to North Hop Aviemore
Thursday 29th June 2017
With less than 5 months to go until North Hop Aviemore hits up the stunning Cairngorms National Park once again we thought we'd put together a wee guide on planning the perfect break in Aviemore for the festival weekend...
FESTIVAL KEY DETAILS:
When: Friday 10 November 2017, 7pm till midnight + Saturday 11 November 2017, 12pm till 5pm & 7pm till midnight.
Where: Osprey Arena, Macdonald Aviemore Resort
What: An epic indoor festival with an apres ski (great outdoors) theme featuring some of the best breweries, bars, street food vendors, market traders and music acts that Scotland has to offer. Expect a few special surprises from further afield too...
Tickets: £15 per session (earlybird - ends 30th June 2017) + booking fee, £17.50 per session (full price) + booking fee. Ticket price includes entry, a North Hop glass, festival programme, and 1 Festival Brew/Festival Cider token. Tickets available here.
Aviemore is well connected with all the main cities/towns in Scotland via rail and bus with regular services in/out. It is also a great area to explore by car if you have that option.
For those of you travelling from Inverness for the day we will once again be putting on late-night buses to get you back from Aviemore to Inverness after the evening sessions end. Stops can also be made at Carrbridge and Tomatin on request. These buses must be pre-booked and limited seats are available, buy your tickets here.

WHERE TO EAT/DRINK:
When you are not at the festival enjoying all the great food/drink on offer we suggest you check out the following places...
Mountain Cafe Aviemore - Whether you are after breakfast, brunch, lunch or afternoon tea MC is the place to be! Don't miss their Kiwi Style Pancakes for breakfast and their epic cakes to eat in or take away.
The Old Bridge Inn - One of our favourite haunts for dinner and drinks, their gin collection is always growing, you will find a few good local beers to try and they always have Thistly Cross Cider on tap!
La Taverna - This place is famous for it's Italian lunch and dinner buffets and they do great pizzas to take out too.
Macdonald Aviemore Resort - From Italian offerings to steak to burgers, whatever you fancy the resort has you covered, look out for special deals nearer the time for festival goers too!
WHAT TO DO:
Aviemore has no end of activities to keep you occupied (and shake off those hangovers!). Here is a couple of our favourites...
Cairngorm Brewery - You may be good at drinking beers but do you know how they are made? Visit the team at the brewery for an entertaining guided tour and tasting.
Quad Treks Aviemore - For those in need of a bit of an adrenaline rush you don't want to miss this! It's a great way to explore the stunning countryside around Aviemore too.
Cairngorm Reindeer Herd - Well it is (or will be) nearly Christmas after all! The team run daily 'hill trips' to visit the herd or you can usually catch a few in the paddocks at the centre.
