North Hop

#northhopabz Our First Granite City Festival!

Monday 4th May 2015

Just over three weeks ago North Hop hit up Aberdeen…transforming The Lemon Tree into a Beer Hall, come Cocktail Lounge, and inviting in over 700 fun loving festival go'ers through the doors on Saturday 11th April 2015 for the first North Hop Aberdeen.

With over 11 festival exhibitors and 8 music acts, there really was something for everyone. BrewDog, Cromarty Brewing Co, Thistly Cross Cider, Windswept Brewing Co and Williams Bros Brewing Co offered up lots of choice on the beers and ciders front, whilst Gomes and the team at the 10 Dollar Shake bar created craft beer cocktails, and served up a cracking selection of gins and special spirits with mixers. The guys at The Deeside Drinks Emporium then allowed folk to order up their favourite gins for home delivery or collection at the shop. And the street food side of things was taken care of by The Adelphi Kitchen, Fresh Revolution, Aye Love Real Food and Stew n' Drew's, who all went down an absolute treat. Lots of laughs (and beers) were enjoyed throughout the afternoon amongst the exhibitors, and we really couldn't have asked for a better group of folk!

And exactly the same could be said for all our amazing music acts…Best Girl Athlete, Margaret Finlayson, HomeAlone, Strange Skies, Colin Clyne, Lionel, Will Farquhar and of course our headline act Daydream Frenzy, each and every one played a fantastic set. And then our talented live artists, Craig Fisher from BrewDog and Lee Matthew from Ugly People, they made for great entertainment and a great backdrop to the festival.

Making it's first appearance at North Hop Aberdeen was our 'Selfie Station' with its selection of crazy props, festival hashtags and Instagram frame…this made for lots of laughs throughout the day and will definitely be making an appearance at future festivals!

And then not forgetting the folk that made the festival truly unforgettable…all you lovely festival go'ers, from Aberdeen, across Scotland and beyond, The Lemon Tree was quite literally buzzing!

So what now you ask? Well all that we can say is going on the feedback from our first North Hop Aberdeen festival, it certainly won't be our last! Plans are already being hatched for 2016 as we type this post, so watch this space…
