North Hop x House of Dun : Exploring Angus - THIS WEEKEND!
Thursday 25th July 2019
Following on from the amazing success of our Pitmedden Garden event last weekend we are delighted to get stuck straight into our next Summer Events Programme event with National Trust for Scotland at the awesome House of Dun THIS weekend, 27 & 28 July!
The event will be spread across various different areas of the house's grounds including the courtyard, events lawn and walled garden.
We have pulled together some of the best local makers to offer up something for everyone and the opportunity to discover lots of new products, and of course House of Dun itself!
Below we have given a bit of a summary of all key FAQs, our awesome vendors and of course how to get in on the action. See you at House of Dun this weekend for lots of fab local food, drink, makers and fun in the sunshine!
Opening Times: 10am till 5pm on Saturday 27th July and 10am till 5pm on Sunday 28th July.
Tickets: This event is ticketed, advance tickets are available to avoid the queues and guarantee entry! Adults only £4 + BF (£5 on door), Kids under 12 go FREE. Tickets will be available on the door and NTS Members will receive a £1 discount. VIP tickets are also available (but must be booked in advance by 10pm Friday) and include entry to the event, a special tour of the house, plus fizz or beer and canapés in the Library to finish.
50% off all ticket sales go direct to National Trust for Scotland to support the great work they do across their properties!
Shuttle Buses: The Basin Rambler (Angus Transport Group) will be running from/to Montrose with various stops in between on both days. Timetable can be found here and this service is free as all drivers are volunteers but donations are welcome.
Cash is Key: Mobile signal and wi-fi is limited at House of Dun so most exhibitors will be working on a cash only basis (unless they strike it lucky with their stand positioning and mobile signal!) so we recommend taking cash with you as there are no cash machines within the close vicinity.
Dogs: Dogs are most welcome to this event but please ensure they remain on a lead at all times, and please clean up after them! Drinking water will be readily available.
Children: This event is very child friendly and we have even laid on some activities (see below) to keep them occupied! The grounds and gardens make for a lovely exploration adventure...
Activities: We are delighted to have Kristina from The Hideout in Arbroath joining us to run kids flag making classes across the weekend, there will be a small fee to take part but each child will take a colourful flag away to play with! We are also delighted to have Under the Teepee joining us once again with their awesome adults and kids themed teepees! These make for the perfect chill zones to enjoy some goodies from the event in. Around the teepees we will have a selection of garden games for all to enjoy and NTS will be running special Ranger Tours and a Scavenger Hunt both days. Live acoustic music will take place courtesy of local legends Dan Faichney and Sean McGouldrick at different 'pop-up' spots around the grounds. And also keep an eye out for Highland Boundary's 'pop-up' wild cocktail bar across the weekend!
Picnic Rugs & Chairs: Although we will have some garden rugs and lovely seating areas on site we are more than happy for you to bring along your own picnic rugs and camping chairs for the day.
Guided House Tours: House tours will be running daily, and all event attendees will receive a 50% discount on these tours, or alternatively grab one of our special VIP tickets (see above) for a tour with a difference!
