Hello North Hop, From Your Highland Ambassador!

Sunday 3rd September 2017

A big North Hop hello from me, Susan – your Highland Ambassador for North Hop. I’ve lived in Inverness for 4.5 years and in that short time I’ve seen a lot of change in the Highlands – with tons of new distilleries and breweries on the scene. They make use of the amazing ingredients we have right on our doorstep, and North Hop does a fantastic job of making sure we all know about them!

My love of North Hop began with the very first tasting events in 2014 which ignited my quest to enjoy a good G&T (all my faves are Highland and Island gins - Caorunn, Rock Rose and Kirkjuvagr, if you’re curious) and the first North Hop festival also introduced me to the dangerously drinkable Thistly Cross cider. I’ll often have Mr B in tow, while not being a gin fan you’ll find him scoping out which brewery offering to try first. It’s always great to see a range of ages enjoying a festival session – whether that’s chowing down on some tasty street food, taking a seat to compare tasting notes with your mates, or tapping toes to the bands and performers taking to the stage. And - a fab perk of North Hop festivals is that there’s no muddy stumble back to your tent, simply head home to your comfy bed or take advantage of a special North Hop hotel deal!

Away from North Hop I enjoy having some Highland foodie adventures from my kitchen and beyond. I often write about these over at Mess in the Ness so in the coming weeks and months I’ll be sharing more about what you can expect from this year’s North Hop at Aviemore.  I’m excited to get going  in my role as North Hop Ambassador, so make sure you say catch up and say hi on Facebook | Twitter | Instagram. Sláinte!
