North Hop x Haddo House : Food & Drink Market - THIS WEEKEND!

Thursday 2nd May 2019

So here it is...the final countdown to our first big event of 2019, our first special collaboration event with National Trust for Scotland at Haddo House 'Celebrating Aberdeenshire', bringing together a whole host of awesome street food vendors, drink brands and market traders from the local area and beyond, with fun for all the family, and dogs too!

Now those of you who have attended our large-scale festivals in the past might be thinking "whoa - kids, dogs, outdoors, daytime, what's going on here?" but bear with us, we haven't completely lost our ways. Those attending will still find all the elements you have grown to love and enjoy about North Hop...awesome street food, discovery of new drinks, lovely market traders, the opportunity to meet the makers, laid back vibes and of course the chance to sit (and roll, if you so wish!) on straw bales, but this time we'll have the epic backdrop of Haddo House, lots of cute dogs to pat, and the chance to enjoy the great outdoors and Aberdeen's countryside, if the weatherman places nice!

On arrival at Haddo House you'll enter through the courtyard where we'll have a few vendors set up and plenty of seating to kick back and relax. The courtyard is also where you'll find the NTS cafe, the shop for booking house tours and picking up some goodies, and also the toilets. Then through the courtyard door you will smell our street food vendors before you see them! In this outdoor area you'll be able to grab some food, hang out with the Me Too! team, keep the kids occupied in a special designated area and chill on straw bales and picnic benches. In the hall you'll find all of our market traders, further food vendors, and our bars, as well as further seating and tables.

Below we have given a bit of a summary of all key FAQs, our awesome exhibitors and of course how to get in on the action. See you at Haddo for some May Day Bank Holiday Weekend fun!

KEY INFO:

Opening Times: 11am till 6pm on Saturday 4th May and 10am till 5pm on Sunday 5th May.

Tickets: This event is ticketed, advance tickets are available to avoid the queues and guarantee entry! Adults only £4 + BF (£5 on door), Kids under 12 go FREE.

Cash is Key: Mobile signal is limited and wi-fi is non-existent at Haddo House so most exhibitors will be working on a cash only basis (unless they strike it lucky with their stand positioning and mobile signal!) so we recommend taking cash with you as there are no cash machines within the close vicinity.

Dogs: Your four legged friends are very much welcome within the outdoors spaces of the event but please ensure they are kept on a lead and under control at all times. Dogs are not allowed within the hall, shop, cafe, or house. Please ensure you clean up after your dog. Drinking water will be readily available in the courtyard area. The NTS shop on site is the place to visit for dog friendly frozen yoghurt, pawsecco and dog beer!

Children: This is a kid friendly event and NTS will be putting on a special scavenger hunt within the house grounds to keep the wee ones occupied. A special kids area will also be set up adjacent to the main outdoor event space with giant games, bubbles, and more. Local charity Me Too! will be onsite with old fashioned funfair games (for a small fee), and will also have a special sensory space for those attending with additional support needs.

Haddo Country Park: Entry to the event allows you to explore the house grounds, garden and country park at your leisure. We also highly recommend booking yourselves onto one of the house tours being run across the weekend for an insightful journey into the history of Haddo House.

Event Line Up: Cheese n Tomatin (wood fired pizzas), Yum Tum on the Run (middle eastern delights), Muchacho (tacos), The Redshank Catering Co (seafood dishes), Edelwurst Catering (bratwursts and fries), Brew Toon (local craft beers), North Hop Bar (local spirits, cider, fizz cocktails), Udny Provender (shrubs, vinegars and honey), The Bread Guy (fresh artisan breads), Hungry Squirrel (nut butters), Louise's Farm Kitchen (farm to plate local pork and lamb), KimberleyART (local watercolour artist), The Wee Loft (tartan gifts), Picky Pencil (on-the-spot caricatures), Ingrained Inc (engraved glasses and gifts), Stew n Drew's (ice cream - Sunday only), Unravel Tea (loose leaf and herbal teas - Sunday only), Me Too!
